Camp Katan

Camp Katan is a two-week program in mid summer for children 3 - 5 years old. Children attend from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM for a morning of fun and learning. Camp Katan has sports activities, craft activities, cooking projects, water fun and a cook-out.  The children learn about nature and spend much of their time outside, weather permitting.

Highlights from Camp Katan 2007

Camp Katan is in its second week with campers having a great time. Today the children went to play miniature golf and everyone had a lot of fun. Every day the children have had fun with the wading pools and sprinkler toys. Last week they made several items for their Shabbat dinner. At the dinner we all sang songs, heard a story, ate dinner, looked at the Torah and saw where the Shema is written and then made Shema pillowcases. Both parents and children enjoyed the experience. Yesterday was cook-out day and everyone loved having grilled hot dogs and potato chips.

Camp Katan is off to a great start. All the campers ran into the room so enthusiastically and got along as though they'd known each other forever. We played games, read a story, had a yummy snack, played in the swimming pools, had lunch and, before we knew it, it was time to go home. As the week continues we will be making many art projects for our Shabbat dinner.
