Congregation Etz Chaim of DuPage County serves more than 550 families in the western suburbs of Chicago. Our synagogue is conveniently located near I-88 and I-355 between Roosevelt and Butterfield Roads, at 1710 South Highland Avenue in Lombard, Illinois.

50th Anniversary April 16th, 17th & 18th
This is Etz Chaim’s jubilee year...its golden year....its 50th year. A time to look back and reflect on all our accomplishments and a time to look forward to the future.
We hope you will join us in what will truly be an exciting, fun, fabulous weekend. There will be something for everyone to participate in...you won’t want to miss any of it!

Saturday, April 17th at 9:30 AM The Synagogue as an Anchor of our Lives
First Hour Our visiting scholar, Rabbi Marc Belgrad, will draw upon our traditional texts to help us see different dimensions of the roles the synagogue serves in Jewish life. The program will include opportunities both for reflection on synagogues in general and Etz Chaim.
Second Hour A playful talk-show format, “Shabbas Morning with Simcha Lettermench” will focus on how Etz Chaim has been and continues to be the anchor in our lives. The program will include interviews with Etz Chaim celebrities, live remotes and a Top Ten list.
Saturday, April 17th at 6:30 PM Dinner Dance at the Hyatt in Lisle. Raffle with wonderful prizes.
Sunday, April 18th at 9:00 AM Religious School for EVERYONE at Westlake. Then at 10:45 AM ~ Rick Recht rock concert (open to all congregants) at Westlake.
Special Commemorative Book highlighting the past 50 years of our history will be given out to each family that attends the dinner-dance.

This year's Sophie and Jack Edwards Scholar-in-Residence program will feature, Alyssa Gray, associate Professor of Codes and Responsa LIterature at Hebrew Union College. Her weekend discussion will be, "How much are we bound? Exploring Classical and Reform Halakhah (Jewish Law)." Read more here.
Congregational Seder ~ Tuesday, March 30th at 6:00 PM
Please join us as we sit down together to celebrate and remember the Jews’ deliverance from slavery to freedom. It is a participatory service – with both adults and children having parts in the seder. The seder is led by Rabbi Bob and Rabbi Cosnowsky, with songleading by Cindy Michelassi. Congregational Retreat April 23-25
Congregation Etz Chaim's Congregational Retreat will take place from Friday to Sunday, April 23-25 at OSRUI in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Retreat is for everyone- singles, couples and families with children. This year's theme will be "Family Ties in Torah; Generations in Genesis". Read more here.
