Adult Education
Chair: Mark & Barbara Turner
Our own rabbis or members lead programs which provide a variety of opportunities for life-long learning. In addition, visiting rabbis or other outside experts come to our congregation to teach and share their knowledge.
A most significant responsibility of the Adult Education Committee is the Sophie & Jack Edwards Scholar-in-Residence program. Once each year, an outside scholar visits the congregation to share his/her scholarship with members of the congregation and the greater community. Visiting scholars include those on the leading edge of academia from across the United States and from Israel. Every two years, the committee sponsors an artist-in-residence.
On the fourth Tuesday of the month, the Adult Education Committtee meetings begin with a brief D'Var Torah and sharing of a communal meal as we plan upcoming events.
